aspiring author's notes

Is it possible to be addicted to reading?

Note: Everything here is 100% me, no AI. This is the video evidence for this blog post. I just wanna be true to myself.

Today has been so weird; I spent so much reading I felt guilty even if it's the thing I'm supposed to be doing as a writer.

Why am I guilty when I'm doing what I'm supposed to do and I love doing it? At first, I thought it might gradually become a new addiction. I'm afraid it will become a new addiction.

I just got out of a long-process of lessening or eradicating four different addictions. It was the hardest journey I ever encountered psychologically. It took me eleven years to overcome all of them. I'm happy I'm free from them now but am I developing another one?

Is it possible to be addicted to reading? Today, only two days after returning to Readwise Reader, I've been spending so much time on it. I'm afraid this will hinder my writing and creating because I'm consuming so much.

Yes, I only did it for one day but why am I so afraid this will go on? Maybe because I just came from a long journey of overcoming addiction.

I'm wary of anything that will become an addiction now. I hope I can regulate it tomorrow and I'm glad there is a quick awareness now unlike before. I'm glad only one day is what it takes to course correct and do better the next day.

Is there such a thing as a "good addiction"? Good or bad, I think it's like with debt (having "bad" or "good" debt), I want to avoid both.

Whatever it takes.
